Très bel établissement au milieu de la végétation, belle plage, très belle piscine. Ma chambre était très confortable avec une belle vue surplombant une petite crique Bonne literie, bonne restauration, bons coktails Un vrai hâvre de paix Louer une voiture car un peu excentré et loin de tout J'étais comme une princesse
Les oiseaux venaient tous les soirs faire un concert sur un arbre devant ma terrasse Passage des chauve-souris en jolis vols (mon regret est de ne pas avoir pu les photographier en plein vol)

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed it. It is definitely no resort and and insult to even be listed under that title. The place looked like it belonged in a slum village. The doors to the bedroom were broken and flimsy, they didn’t lock properly and even a slight breeze would open the locked door. The toilet appeared to be from the 16th century, was dirty and I felt like I was going to contract a disease using it. The windows were tattered and broken.
The courtyard and surrounding gardens were so unkept that I thought I was living in a jungle... I avoided even eating here because from the appearance of its decor and cleanliness I would get violently sick. This is a disgrace of a hotel and would avoid at all costs if you care about your safety!

This is by far the worst accommodation I’ve ever stayed at and is definitely no “resort”.
The building appears to be from the 18th century. The door to my room didn’t lock and kept opening, the windows had panels missing which allowed mosquitos in, the toilet didn’t flush, the shower had a weird bucket with dirty water in it and the water pressure was horrible. I felt extremely unsafe staying there and wouldn’t recommend my it to my dog.

We had a 5am flight out of Sierra Leone with the option of taking the 1am ferry which would have left us in the airport for 4 hours. We instead opted to take the 4pm ferry and stay 1 night at the Mahera hotel. It was a good plan as this hotel was decent and offered a full night's rest before boarding a very long flight back to NYC! The staff was friendly giving us clean towels, a bednet, tv, bottled water, air conditioning and I had a cute little porch where I was able to bring dinner from the restaurant. Everything was clean and the hotel is very conveniently located right at the ferry terminal and where the airport coach drops off and picks up. I was even given little slippers to walk around in. The staff provided a wake-up call to coincide with the airport ferry coach and since the hotel only accepts cash, a hotel employee accompanied us to the airport so we could use the atm and pay them at the airport. The Mahera also offered a quiet night as the airport hotel is right next to a very lively nightclub with thumping music and crowds of young people.

This is now quite old news but the kitchen and restaurant have both burned down and the re build programme has after lacklustre start not progressed for a number of months now.
Food available from the the Lungi Airport Hotel. All you will get from the Mahera Beach Hotel is cold drinks.
